What Does Recovery Mode Mean on a Thermostat in San Luis, AZ?
When your thermostat says “recovery mode,” it means that the thermostat is either entering or leaving its energy-saving mode. Most of the time in San Luis, AZ, this is normal for your thermostat’s operation. Read on to learn about some potential reasons why your home’s thermostat could be in recovery mode.
Programming
Your thermostat will adjust to any changes related to the settings you program into it. When it turns off or on between those programmed changes, it will usually enter recovery mode.
An example would be if you set it for 72°F for your morning routine, 80°F when you’re at work and then 70°F about an hour before you arrive back home. It’s possible for your heat pump, air conditioner, or furnace to enter recovery mode between those changes.
Switching Between Cooling and Heating Modes
In San Luis, during late fall, it may drop into the 40s in the evening and overnight. If you have a heat pump, it could show “recovery mode” while making the change from cooling to heating mode. Likewise, when the temperature rises again after dawn, the same thing could happen as your heat pump switches modes again.
Learning Patterns
Smart thermostats learn your patterns of use as they go, especially if you set the same temperatures for the same times every day. If you make a “one-off” change and your smart thermostat switches you back to your “usual,” it could show “recovery mode.” If it alters your usual pattern based on new information, then the same possibility applies.
Additionally, it’s possible that your smart thermostat could be on the fritz, in which case you’ll need our help. Call our team at Quick Refrigeration today to set up an appointment for HVAC maintenance.
